Position Description:

Department: Mechanical System Design Group - Fire Protection System Team

Basic work scope is to help the team to demonstrate compliance with all applicable requirements and to generate the related documents required in the Type Certification Application and Approval processes. The main duties and responsibilities of a successful candidate will be related to Ignition Source Minimization of equipment for fire prevention. This will include interfacing with all other aircraft function and engineering teams to coordinate and obtain the approval of any task assigned contributing to the aircraft Ignition Source Minimization and Certification.

Unique Skills:
- Have experience conducting fire safety assessment with regard to ignition and fire prevention of electronic/electrical equipment.
- Familiar with FAR 25.863 and 25.869.
- Lead/Participate authority meetings to present and discuss MITAC positions to the equipment ignition prevention issues and related rules (Regulation and Advisory materials).
Requirements:


• 10+ years engineering experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
• Certification and/or Flight Test experience
• Leadership experience preferred
• Project Management experience preferred
• Must be willing to stay in Japan a minimum of 2-5 years or until project is complete
• Proven ability to work to challenging deadlines (New Product Introduction) is desirable
