Position Description:

Under general supervision and following established policies, performs professional configuration management assignments requiring full use and application of standard configuration management principles, theories, concepts and techniques.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Assists in implementation of configuration management requirements including identification, control and status accounting.
- Assists in preparation of technically accurate and concise engineering documentation and proposals for assigned projects.
- Ensures that product design complies with contractual requirements and that changes have been verified for accuracy, consistency and interchangeability.
- Provides audit support for various functional areas to ensure compliance with configuration management practices.
- May have configuration management responsibilities for small programs of limited complexity.
- May assign work to and direct less senior configuration analysts.
- Work is reviewed for soundness of technical judgment and overall adequacy and accuracy. Erroneous decisions or recommendations, or failure to get results may cause delays in project schedules and result in the allocation of more resources.
- Contacts are primarily intra-organizational and include resident customer representatives.
- May be involved in interfacing with inter-organizational and outside customer contacts, but contacts would be infrequent and on routine matters.
1) Review documentation utilizing configuration management requirements and techniques; including identification, controls and status accounting, for releasing documentation within corporate PLM tool(s) 35%.
2) Perform contract and or supplier data entry within the PLM and submittal follow up, under general supervision 30%.
3) Support in development of data packages for hardware pdigree reviews as directed 30%.
4) Support configuration and data management functions relating to document and data retention, e.g. archiving, 5%.

Requirements:
Data references are engineering data unless otherwise stated. The main CM Tool (PLM) is Windchill
Skills:
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints and related specifications.
- Ability to write clearly and concisely. Understanding of appropriate codes, regulations and specifications as well as applicable customer requirements.
- May require knowledge of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Manufacture (CAM) methods and techniques.
- May require the use of various computer systems to produce data, analysis and reports.
- May require knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
- May require knowledge of design practices, manufacturing techniques and inspection requirements.
- Ability to operate effectively in a team environment.
- Must be a US Person.
- Understanding and application of Configuration and Data Management principles, concepts, and practices helpful.
- Knowledge of information technology systems, concepts, hardware and software programs helpful.
- Skilled in use of Product Lifecycle Management tool Windchill preferred
- CM II or CMPIC courses helpful
Education:
Bachelors degree in an appropriate discipline and two years of related technical experience as an associate configuration management analyst or equivalent combination of education and experience.
