Flight Test Manager

Position Description:

***The primary work location will be in Nagoya, Japan. However, engineers maybe requested to relocate to Seattle or Moses Lake (Washington State, USA) where aircraft flight testing is performed and may also be requested to travel to systems supplier sites. Shift rotation and weekend working may be necessary***

- Basic work scope is to support the development and certification tests during the MRJ ground test and flight test programme in order to comply to all applicable requirements.

- The responsible Engineer will be part of the Propulsion System Flight Test team. The role will include technical support before and after test events, and telemetry support during test events. The successful candidate will have the technical ability to interface with all other aircraft functions and engineering teams to coordinate and obtain concurrence in support of the Propulsion System test requirements.

- Work as team in a multi-cultural and an international working environment in Japan at the Company Headquarters. Japanese Language skill is not required.
Requirements:


- Bachelors Degree in Engineering with 5 years aviation related experience, preferably on the Propulsion system and/or integration of the propulsion system with the aircraft systems.

- Experience in ATA49, ATA70-79.

- Have about 15+ years of propulsion design or flight test experience.

- Have created relevant documents

- Have reviewed documents such as test specs, test reports and post flight data reviews.

- Have the ability to manage suppliers

The following Experience related to Flight Test will be beneficial:

- Knowledge of Flight Test Instrumentation

- Experience of developing propulsion system test specs, attending tests, and monitoring test data on board or in telemetry, and being the test focal for Engineering..

- Coordination of engine OEM on-site team,

- Analyzis of test data / report writing

- Troubleshooting

- Manage test equipment/ parts logistics

- Keep up flight test engine management plan (CPMP)

Required Knowledge and skills:
ATA26,ATA49, ATA70-79, FAA and EASA

- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

- Ability to utilize interpersonal and communication techniques, working in a team environment, dealing with a wide variety of personalities and communication styles.

- Ability to identify potential issues with machinery development, manufacturing processes or parts.

- Needs the ability to develop, plan and implement short and long term goal.

- Ability to adapt to change.
