Structural Analysis Engineer

Position Description:

** Candidates must be U.S. Citizens - Permanent residents are NOT eligible for this role **

** Dual citizens are NOT eligible for this role. Also, candidates with a current non-U.S. passport in addition to a U.S. passport are NOT acceptable **

The selected candidate will:
- Assist other analysts and designers engaged with development and production of new and existing liquid rocket engines, propulsion system components and secondary structure.
- Perform structural analyses utilizing class hand-calculation methods and finite element models.
- Construct and solve static and dynamic finite element models with ANSYS
- Participate in dynamic test planning and execution.
- Correlate structural models to test results.
- Interpret analytical results, assess design margins and prepare technical reports.
Requirements:


REQUIRED:
-Must have experience using ANSYS (or Workbench) on Structural Analysis specifically (not fluid analysis).
-Prefer candidates with stable work histories (are not “job hoppers”).
-Master’s degree strongly preferred.
-Aerospace or Defense related experience preferred over airframe or aviation experience.
-Recent college grads are okay with at least some ANSYS experience.

Skills:
-Demonstrated experience performing linear, non-linear and structural dynamic analyses supporting design, development and production qualification of new or updated products is required.
-Proficiency using finite element analysis tools such as ANSYS is required.
-Knowledge and experience with aerospace product development efforts is desired.
-Must have the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and Power Point) is required.

Education:
-BS in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Mechanics and at least 5 years of engineering experience with structural analysis or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
-Master’s degree is strongly preferred.
