Position Description:
Candidates selected for this position will design, develop, maintain and release electronic / electrical / mechanical drawings and 3D MBD Model based definition data packages using CATIA V5. Duties include developing aircraft helicopter cockpit layouts, designing various instrument and switch panel assemblies, electronic boxes, avionics racks and shelves and all other aircraft type electrical and avionics aircraft installations. Responsible for investigating design precedents to document and maintain configuration control of engineering designs for use by downstream organizations, and developing aircraft electrical equipment configurations for multiple customers while applying company, industry, and governmental standards. Job requires strong technical skillset in CATIA V5 and 3D model based master definition engineering, as well as experience in creating and revising 2D engineering for details, assemblies, and installations for electrical equipment for aircraft applications. Experience with Teamcenter (IPDM) is preferred.
Develops and maintains cable/wire harness detail and assembly designs. Supports analysis and design reviews. Develops and maintains electrical product detail, assembly and installation designs (e.g., equipment racks, power panels, cable routing and geometry, antennas).Provides engineering design disposition on discrepancies (e.g., rejection tags, production action requests, shop revision requests). Follows documented processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commodities. Supports the development of statements of work. Assists in the technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection. Analyzes functional and physical input used in the development of integrated design and system architecture. Works under general supervision.
