Design Engineer - Landing Gear

Position Description:

Description
• Landing gear and associated systems conceptual design using CATIA V5
• Produce comprehensive layouts and tolerance analysis
• Basic engineering analysis to substantiate initial layouts
• Responsible for ensuring the design of the equipment meets the applicable specification requirements including FAR and JAR
• Create and update documents using Product Data Management (PDM) system
• Participate enthusiastically in the Integrated Product Team activity
• Ensure that lessons learned are applied to new designs
• Ensure that a common design approach is followed using harmonized standards
• Liaise with external customers/suppliers in addition to communicating internally with various departments including Quality, Product Support, Manufacturing, etc.
• Occasionally work offsite for extended periods at customer/partner facilities inside or outside of U.S.A if required.
Requirements:


Qualifications
• Mechanical or Aerospace engineering degree
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in landing gear design and/or integration
• Must be familiar with all aspects of design of landing gear; mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems and components
• Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing to ASME Y.14.5M-1994
• Proven ability to create complex tolerance stack-ups and comprehensive design layouts
• Proven capability in the use of CATIA V5, solid modeling, kinematics and 3D FT&A layouts. Must be proficient with Detail and Assembly Model Based Definition Drawings
• Experience in ENOVIA is highly recommended
• Experience in MRB Engineering is a benefit
• Experience with reducing Cost or improving Manufacturability is a benefit
• Excellent English written and oral communication and presentation skills
• Intermediate proficiency with MS Office required
• Proven leadership and people management skills
• Detail and results oriented with a well-developed problem solving ability
• Ability to travel internationally
• Bilingual (French/English) is an asset
