Position Description:
Primary Responsibilities
• Work in an engineering developmental test lab to design, implement and test structural and mechanical components.
• Develop detailed test procedures, including instrumentation and configuration definition needed to perform the test and minimize risk.
• Design components, sub-assembly and load system hardware and use analytical tools to verify the design with a focus on safety.
• Assist in coordinating the manufacture and assembly of test hardware.
• Review test data for accuracy, quality and fidelity.
• Create test reports for delivery to the customer.
Requirements:
Basic (Required) Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree or higher is required.
• Direct working experience in the areas of developmental test, automotive or aerospace engineering.
• Unigraphics and/or CATIA experience is required.
Preferred (Desired) Qualifications
• Minimum of 4 years of structural test experience supporting aircraft structures
• Experience with industrial test laboratory environments and procedures
• Experience with structural, mechanical, and dynamic component interrelationships and capabilities
• Experience in a lab environment with data acquisition systems and test instrumentation.
• Experience with MTS AeroPro software.
• Vibration test equipment, fixture design, testing standards end execution of vibe tests.
• Experience with sensors including accelerometers, strain gages, thermocouples, load cells, and microphones.
• Experience with principles of operation of transducers.
Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification.
