Position Description:
**Secret Clearance required to start**
Company Defense, Space, & Security (BDS) Mission Systems is seeking highly qualified senior-level software engineers to lead the development of innovative solutions to complex problems. The selected candidate will lead the design, develop, implement, test and document software for surveillance aircraft platforms that enables air superiority by detecting, identifying, and tracking airborne threats and providing operators intuitive battle management controls. Responsibilities may include: Requirements analysis, design, development, test, documentation, licensing, troubleshooting, and user support; custom operating system development; tool design and maintenance; research and development projects; trade studies; risk assessments; coordinate efforts and designs with other groups (e.g. SEIT, Performance Analysis, MS Applications), and support to software testing including laboratory and flight testing in the US and overseas. The selected candidate may also contribute to identifying potential new work (e.g., system upgrades), preparing proposals, estimating engineering work, managing resources, developing realistic, achievable schedules to cover multiple programs and baselines, and mentoring and training early career engineers. The ideal candidate possesses a good understanding and working knowledge of sound software development processes, including design, development, testing, and configuration management. The selected candidate must be comfortable in a highly collaborative environment (usually between multiple sites) and possess demonstrated creative, critical thinking and troubleshooting skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience leading projects or teams; organizing, assigning and delegating work within the team; and planning and estimating tasks is required.

Requirements:
Required Software and Applications Experience:
- Java, C++, scripting languages
- Experience with Linux and Windows Operating Systems.
Bachelor's degree with 14 or more years' experience, Master's degreee with 12 or more years' experience or PhD with 9 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
