Position Description:
**Must be able to obtain Secret Clearance**
Company Talent Acquisition is currently looking for a Systems Engineer to join our team in Long Beach, CA applying Systems Engineering principles, tools, and techniques to a continuing series of upgrades and improvements to the C-17 Globemaster III aircraft.
Position Responsibilities:
Apply Systems Engineering principles, tools and techniques to the Design, Technical Documents, Testing, and Certification of aircraft.
Ability to understand the big picture and the inter-relationships of all positions and activities in the system, including the impact of changes in one area on another area. This includes the ability to see and understand the inter-relationships between components of systems and plans, anticipate future events, and apply the principles of systems thinking to accelerate performance.
Knowledge of aircraft systems, components, and loadable/non-loadable software.
Skill and ability to: collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources.
Knowledge of verification, validation, certification and qualification processes and procedures, including knowledge of governing regulations and compliance requirements.
Ability to assess and document test or analysis data to show compliance.
Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.
Develops, maintains and identifies improvements for the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.
Resolves cross-functional technical issues.

Requirements:
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
5+ years of experience in a dedicated Systems Engineering role
Experience with Systems Engineering tools
Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience with any of the following is desired:
1+ years of experience applying systems engineering principles during the development of complex hardware/software solutions on an aerospace platform
1+ years of experience assisting in any of the following engineering areas: airworthiness certification, requirements analysis, requirements management, design review process, risk management, or any other specialties engineering discipline
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
