Position Description

We are recruiting an Experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join the Production Engineering organization supporting the 787 Program in San Antonio, Texas. Airplanes in San Antonio are completing balance to-go burndowns, seats installation, storage and flight readiness activities.

Must be able to work 1st or 2nd Shift. Positions are 100% on-site in San Antonio.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Enhancing and developing non-recurring build plans to support aircrafts during storage/re-activation/pre-flight activity
• Review and support any open baseline SOW that needs completed
• Review jobs and assist with the build by identifying the proper tools, processes, and sequences.
• Shipside support to identify process improvements and answer build questions
• Coordination with Engineering functions on new and open nonconformances
• Coordination with 787 Engineering Teams, including Everett and South Carolina Flightline.
• Support airplane induction activities to/from San Antonio

Requirements

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
• Must have a Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an ABET accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry and applicable experience in a professional exempt engineering classification, or equivalent education and experience.
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering in Aerospace
• 1+ years of experience supporting any Company Commercial Airplane program (737, 767, 777, 787).
• Ability to support 1st and 2nd shift including weekends on a rotating basis

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to contribute with minimum supervision
• Previous or current experience with 787 Program and tools
• Experience with and ability to gain access to Velocity, ENOVIA, IVT
• Experience with build plan, processes, and shipside support
• Experience with Interiors commodities

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
