Position Description:
Location is in Everett, WA, but may be open to Remote work.
Develops requirement management processes and tools. Investigates actions necessary for requirements definition and flow-down improvement. Performs and documents design of Guidance, Navigation, and Control systems models and tools and guides less experienced engineers in performance of the designs. Develops certification criteria and methods with regulatory agencies. Leads, organizes and resolves cross-divisional problems to provide technical assistance to internal/external customers. Assures cost, time effective, creative solutions and disposition of issues to assure customer satisfaction. Performs a wide variety of complex trades studies to meet program requirements. Works under consultative direction.
• Work within the Flight Controls Team for Commercial Airplanes
• Multiple Development initiatives on the team
• Working on teams Developing new airplanes for the business.

Requirements:
Required:
• Experience in complex safety critical system design using object based three-dimensional CAD tools, such as, CATIA; dynamic system simulation tools, such as, Easy5; and traditional engineering analytical methods
• Experience in requirements development, design, analysis, and verification & validation of flight control systems
Hiring team looking for candidates with multiple years of experience doing this type of work.
• Experience using requirement management tools such as IBM Rational DOORS
• Experience with System Safety Analysis including failure modes and effects analysis; fault tree analysis; common cause analysis, and single & multiple failure analysis
• Experience with control system and component troubleshooting
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
A plus:
• Experience with manufacturing regulated and certified, safety critical components and software
• Demonstrated ability to learn fast and effectively apply prior experience and knowledge to new and different challenges
• Demonstrated ability to plan and execute complex projects to successful implementation on-time and within cost constraints
• Demonstrated enthusiasm for cross-functional team success
• Demonstrated enthusiasm for mentoring and training early career engineers and technicians
• Demonstrated resilience and flexibility in the face of technical setbacks
• Strong, durable desire to find the right answers in the time available for a cost that makes implementation certain
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
