Position Description: Position is for a staff level Component Product Engineer for the procurement initiation process of rocket engine system interconnect hardware. Must have experience with the procurement initiation process. Skills: 20%: become familiar with the customer requirements for the engine and components and prepare a Purchase Performance Specification that will be included in the Purchase Order for the components. 20%: follow the request for quote process and coordinate as required with the suppliers to ensure fully compliant proposals. Conduct an analysis of the proposals to determine the best supplier based on a predetermined set of evaluation criteria. 20%: Initiate the Production Readiness Assurance (PRA) process starting with a Supplier Requirements Review (SRR) to ensure a no-surprises validation expectation. Work with the supplier to create Design Review Packages (PDR/CDR) to support hardware deliveries in early 2018. 20%: Make a determination on the suppliers process for machines and processes so that they are capable and that the process yields are in control. 10%: Make a recommendation for any design, and/or manufacturing, or assembly changes that need to be made to force the supplier process to be in control and capable.

Requirements: A Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline and five (3) years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. ** Active or recent Secret Security clearances are strongly preferred. If candidates do not have a clearance they must be eligible to obtain one if needed **
