Position Description:
Engineer will support Research and Development & Program support issue resolution or general testing customer needs. The primary areas of focus with be with inorganic Surface Treatments and Finishes processing supporting Tank line activities, laboratory test activities (Coating weights, adhesion, degradation/corrosion testing & assessments in relation to various environmental exposures, Hydgrogen Embrittlement testing and IGA asessments, etc.). Support lab equipment maintenance, operations and calibration. Support lead engineers and Principal Investigators with their project tasks, potentially working 8 to 10 different Activities.
Collects information to support test planning, definition of requirements for materials, parts and processes used or to be used in the manufacture of products. Incorporates changes to specifications and other documents to manage the deployment of materials, parts and processes. Performs tests to qualify new materials, parts and processes to meet requirements. Assists with activities to qualify suppliers to applicable requirements. Conducts basic analysis to determine reasons for failures of materials, parts or processes. Assists in implementing corrective and preventive actions. Develops basic computer and production systems to satisfy user requirements. Works under close supervision.
Requirements:
Lab experience with Normal Saline Salt Fog, Temp/Humidity chambers, Dynamic Mechanical Analyzer/Tester, and any surface finishing is a Plus
Required: Bachelor's degree in an engineering classification from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry. Preferrably Material Science or Chemical Engineering.
