This is an exciting and rare opportunity to work on the world’s most advanced variant of the combat-proven SLAM ER missile system. The SLAM ER development program is utilizing a Model Based Engineering approach to implement a new SLAM ER weapon system configuration to replace obsolete or uneconomical parts and subsystems to support production and improve future sustainment.
The job assignment for a structural analysis engineer is to perform strength, fatigue, and damage tolerance analysis for missile structural components and document analysis results. A working knowledge of classical analysis methodologies will be beneficial, as the candidate will be required to create analysis models, perform hand calculations and have an understanding of analysis best practices to provide strength inputs and recommendations for new designs and installations. A structural analysis engineer works as part of an Integrated Product Team (IPT) and must have the ability to effectively communicate and work under general direction provided by senior lead engineers and management.

Position Responsibilities Include:
· Guides product design and verifies structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance.
· Performs stress analysis of structure using classical hand methods (including buckling, crippling, shear, tension)
· Perform Fatigue and damage tolerance analysis using specified methodologies
· Determine internal and external loads on a structure using free body diagrams
· Build Finite Element Models to determine internal loads and locate stress concentrations
· Create Stress Analysis reports
· Collaborate with engineers in other disciplines (structural design, loads/dynamics, mass properties, materials & properties, thermal analysis, aerodynamics, etc.)
· Support internal design reviews

· 3+ years of experience using NASTRAN/PATRAN or similar FEM software to perform structural analysis on aircraft or space structures
· Proficient utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite
· General understanding of basic programming in languages such as VBA or Python
· Experience with Company tools such as CSW & XSA
· Experience performing analysis with basic hand calculations
· General understanding of load paths with the ability to generate free body diagrams
